Saigon – Tunnels – Cao Dai Temple

Arrive around 11:30 am, and this is a perfect time to learn about Cao Daism, its history and have time for endless photos before you watch the followers attending noon mass. Cao Daism is a unique religion combined with Catholicism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism and Islam.
Then have lunch in the famous restaurant, continue travelling to Cu Chi tunnels, and visit the Ben Duoc original tunnels. Viet Minh dug the tunnels in 1948 when the French were here, then Viet Cong built the tunnels longer and more complicated than when US Army was in South Vietnam until 1975. It is an impressive underground constructed base. You explore these tunnels with your leader and also accompanied by Viet Cong guide with local knowledge. Then return to Saigon in the late afternoon.
Saigon – Ben Tre - Can Tho
Breakfast at the hotel, check out for an hour transfer to Ben Tre, Mekong Delta. This morning, you will be immersed in the fascinating Mekong Delta with a couple of hours of boat cruises through the lush orchards and lively villages along. Arrive in Ben Tre around 10:00 am, then you take a boat trip along the riverbank before crossing the Cai Cam to visit the village, stop at a coconut processing workshop. You can see locals making plenty of valuable products and experience daily life.
Next, you will have a short tour through the village by Italian 3 wheel vintage Lambro. This three wheels passengers vehicle will remind you and locals about Saigon City from 1960 to 1975. However, the War ended and the Italian 3 wheels cars still using until late 1990. The vintage Lambro continues driving you to another family workshop producing coconut mats.
After the visit, take a walk to lush orchards, taste some tropical fruit before you enjoy a leisurely small sampan rowed on a natural creek through green water palms alongside. Lastly, you get back on the boat and continue cruising. Enjoy a special lunch with a local family in a beautiful traditional garden house in rural before a 2.5 hours drive to Can Tho.
Can Tho – Floating Market – Sadec – Chau Doc
The highlight to visit in the morning is the real floating market of Cai Rang. This market is famous for it's real with hundreds of big and smaller boats anchored around to advertise the items they want to sell or buy. After breakfast, take a 40-minute boat trip from Ninh Kieu Pier to Cai Rang. Enjoy a life of locals along waterways to Cai Rang, where numbers of small boats exchange farm products, from boat to boat.
The boat gets through the market slowly, so we watch locals exchange farm products from boat to boat, and it is also an excellent time to capture the market in action. Every boat has a long upright pole at its bow on which samples of the goods for sale hung on the bamboo sticks with bananas, pineapple, sweet potatoes, watermelons and so on. Each product for sale is easy to recognize because it's hung up with a bamboo pole.
Disembark your boat for another land market that sells all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables. Then carry on the journey to Sadec town by car. Make a stop at the flower villages, experience how people grow them, and walk through some ornamentals and bonsai gardens. These villages are fabulous places for flower lovers. Next, a short drive takes you to the ancient house of Huy Thuy Le. The house's owner was in love with the French lady from 1928 to 1932 during the Indochina time. The town had become famous since the movie "The Lover" was published. Sadec is an old town built by the French, and it becomes known to tourists since the movie "The Lover" had published. Marguerite Duras's love story is about when she fell in love with a local man before 1932. You will be told the story when you come to the house.
